How this calculator works

Every part of the job is measured on its own, then multiplied by the hourly rate you want to earn and adjusted for height, debris and access. It doesn't just copy what the cheapest operator charges.

• Linear feet sets the base time — roughly one hour per 80–100 ft on a single-storey home with moderate debris.
• Downspouts are counted separately because a blocked downspout is its own job; flushing them adds time on top of the gutter run.
• Storeys multiply the whole job. A two-storey home is not twice the gutter — it's the ladder moves, the setup and the risk that cost you the time.
• Debris load and access multiply time too: packed moss and seedlings clean at a fraction of the speed of dry leaves, and a steep or obstructed roofline means extra rigging.
• Add-ons are flat amounts you can price individually on the invoice; guard installation is shown as a typical whole-home figure and should be quoted per foot on site.
• Crew changes how long you're on site, not what the job is worth — the price is built from total labour hours.
